Congratulations to All Play & Learn Centres on Exceeding the National Quality Standards

Proudly using EarlyWorks since 2015

Play & Learn have been using the EarlyWorks program since 2015. All our centres have been through the assessment and rating process using EarlyWorks for our program and daily communications, all were rated Exceeding not only in QA1, Educational program and practice but overall as a service.

EarlyWorks has a step by step process making it so easy for all educators from Trainees, Cert III, Qualified to ECT to understand and complete the program cycle entirely.

The program is tailored to our individual centres allowing us to include our service Philosophy and frameworks reflecting our program policy. Having the information already in the system saves educators time and allows us to focus on meaningful interactions, planning and implementation of the program.

The team at EarlyWorks are very helpful and are always available to assist with any questions and issues we come across. Bonnie is very knowledgeable and able to customise training to suit our centres’ needs. Our Educators and Educational Leader find the online updates easy to read and implement.

We continue to receive positive feedback from families who love being able to log on from work or home at a time convenient for them to see updates about their child’s day, their individual portfolio and recent photos. Families are also able to leave comments and have input into the program using the daily communication and comments tabs. This information is instantly available to the educators who can respond straight back to the family also.

A big thanks to Bonnie and the EarlyWorks team for helping to make our program not only convenient and efficient but sustainable too. We can’t imagine our service without EarlyWorks.”

EYLF Programming Checklist – Outcomes Assessment

Automatically create reports of individual child development and learning progress relating to the outcomes and developmental milestones of any learning framework. EarlyWorks generates an EYLF programming checklist to assist educators keep track of their EYLF documentation. The room checklist records when educators have observed particular learning outcomes, and the room analysis chart shows a comparison of learning outcomes that have been considered in program planning and those that have been observed for each room. EarlyWorks also produces these charts for each child, showing when  planning to support individual children’s learning outcomes has occurred or when educators have documented that a child has demonstrated progress towards learning outcomes through childcare observations.

Curriculum Planning Formats

EarlyWorks comes preloaded with learning outcomes for the EYLF and the My Time, Our Place Framework for School Age Care. You can also include other learning frameworks (e.g. Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines, Montessori Curriculum, Te Whāriki). Services can also personalise the outcomes available to include additional items such as their service philosophy, theorists, and any other areas that may be referenced within a program.

Planning Cycle for EYLF, MTOP, Montessori and other learning frameworks

EarlyWorks observations and program planning follow a clear planning cycle of observe, question, plan, act, reflect/evaluate. Educators are alerted to incomplete evaluations to assist in following the complete planning cycle.

Learning Story Templates and Formats

EarlyWorks flexible educator completed templates complement a large array of documentation styles from learning stories through to short jottings. Editable formats allow educators to design their own unique style in Microsoft Word or use the existing professional layouts for printing.

The EarlyWorks ACECQA Planning Cycle

The ACECQA planning cycle is a process of professional observation, planning and evaluation used by early childhood educators to assist in developing high quality early childhood education programs for children. This cycle is often referred to as the five steps of the planning cycle as shown below.
Observe – the process of gathering information.
Analyse – questioning what learning and development is taking place to make meaning of what has been observed.
Plan – planning the nest steps to continue supporting learning and development.
Act – putting the plan into action.
Reflect – evaluating the effectiveness of the plan.

Reflective Practice in Childcare

To promote continuous improvement, it is an NQS requirement that childcare services have a system in place to support the recording of regular reflective practice. EarlyWorks supports reflective practices such as Weekly Reflections to assist educators in improving their knowledge, skills and practices.  This in turn creates the best outcomes for children, families and the service. EarlyWorks allows educators to reflect on programmes and practices with links to the Principles and Practices as well as the Quality Areas of the NQS. Managers and co-ordinators provide feedback with the ability to include this in the service’s Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).

EarlyWorks also supports collaborative reflection using programme comments.  This allows educators and managers to create reflections at any point during the Planning Cycle.

Manage Your EYLF Planning Cycle

EarlyWorks has been designed by industry specialists to support managers and educators in delivering high quality early childhood educational documentation while being simple to produce and easy to use. Observations, Programmes, Journals, Reflections, Children’s Learning Portfolios even the service’s Quality Improvement Plan become almost effortless with EarlyWorks.  Watch our video below to find out more.
